In her first solo exhibition, Maya Bloch, an Israeli-born and Brooklyn based painter, showcases a body of work which is mostly made up of monochrome, graphite washes, and coloured pencils on canvas. Her work deals with dream-like sequences of mostly forgotten family gatherings, with the artist herself at the edge of these memories. Bloch explores both her physical presence and the transitional nature of shared experiences in this exhibition. The opening of Life Goes on Without Me is hosted at the Galerie Guido W. Baudach, which was founded in 1999 in Berlin’s Mitte. The exhibition opens this weekend and runs until April 16 2016.
