Maiken Bent is a virgin in the German art scene, but that won’t last for long. Her show, opening this Saturday at KW Institute for Contemporary Art. A seasoned artist when it comes to group and solo shows in general, exhibiting across the globe from Paris to Louisiana, Maiken is no doubt skilled in her craft. Her playful and affinity with highlighting contrasting elements often intrigues her audiences. Freshly imagined, her exhibition will take place in two opposing rooms that all examine relationships between space, object, and viewer. Her sculptures manipulate already existing objects. Her artistic manifestations toy with ideas of permanence and metamorphosis. The great location of KW Institute puts the art-goers in the center of the city, so any post-Kunst plans can happen efficiently. Its infrastructure boasts a form of contemporary majesty while the interior is spacious and pristine. Expect to contemplate.
