Jeremy Shaw is known for his exploration of mental states with special attention to the effects of psychedelics. His injection of scientific insight into these aesthetically minded think pieces are why his delineations extrapolate such visceral responses from his audience. His mechanisms of artful transcendence are mainly video and Kirlian photography. His exhibition that extends all the way until early July is opening this Saturday at the infamous König Galerie. For those who have yet to trapeze this bastion of artistry that is König Galerie, be prepared for a space that’s a piece of art in itself. A once-upon-a-time church turned house of art boasts a spaciousness that maintains a warmth and intimacy while still giving the art room to breathe. Like any good art opening, beer, wine and a few other liquids to whet your whistle will be for the taking.
