The Berlinale is the annual International Film Festival that breaks up the monotonous grey of February with a little red carpet glamour. Aside from showcasing over 350 films in nine categories, the event brings A-list celebrities, plenty of panels and, of course, some top-notch parties to the city. Here are the best Berlinale parties of 2018 that you don’t need a press pass to get into.

Berlinale Opening Party

The Filmfestival Opening Party hosted by Filmemacher Deutschland and Mindmash.tv invites guests to network, dance and party in honour of the annual Berlinale. Held in the elegant space, Haus Ungarn, located in the heart of Berlin at Alexanderplatz. The ticketed event includes DJs that will get the crowd moving at two dancefloors, goodie bags for the first 500 guest and many familiar faces from film and TV.

WarmUp at The Grand Club

Another opening event for the Berlinale is WarmUp at The Grand Club. The ticketed event draws in industry professionals and creatives to celebrate another year of the International Film Festival. Mixing luxury elements with an understated industrial feel, the club offers the glamour and gritty ambience often equated with Berlin. The night promises flowing drinks, plenty of fellow cinephiles to rub shoulders with and an exciting night to kick off the Berlinale.

Berlinale Street Food Market

Berlinale Street Food Market run by the popular Bite Club Berlin and Berlinale Kulinarisches Kino is a daily event running throughout the 10-day festival. From 11am-10pm the street food market will be fueling up festival visitors with international delicacies close to the Berlinale Palast. Although it’s not a party, it is a delicious side event that can be enjoyed while dashing from film to film during the festival.

Loud and Queer Berlinale Party

Sometimes it’s all in the name and at the Loud and Queer Berlinale Party this is certainly true. A wild celebration of queer cinema, at Berlin’s notorious Ritter Butzke club, this annual party is a chance to let your hair down and celebrate queer culture.
