With wild nights out, jaw-dropping history, stretches of magical greenery, and a whirlpool of culture and art, it’s easy to fall in love in Berlin. The city is buzzing with energy, creativity, and beautiful strangers waiting to make your acquaintance. So whether you’re an already-established couple and looking to reignite the flames, or you’re looking for a perfect spot for your next Tinder date, try one of these locations that ooze with Berlin charm.

Templehof

Wow your potential lover with a trip to Berlin’s most iconic urban landmark: the abandoned airfield at Templehof. At sunset it gets pretty romantic, with the light creating a hue of golden and pink backdrop, perfect for the seeds of love to be planted. Play kissing catchers among the gorgeous community garden, which is full of flowers and dreamy with hidden spots draped in vines, or hire some roller skates or bicycles and ride into the sunset with all the feels.

2. Plötzensee

A train ride to the north of Berlin will take you to this lovely lake surrounded by lush green trees. Skip the beach section where the kids in armbands might spoil the romance, and find your own little spot hidden among the trees. Also, Berlin is totally chilled with nude swimming, so if the date is going well don’t be shy. Bring a guitar, some poetry, and a bottle of wine for extra date points.

Opt for the old movie classic date to test the chemistry. This open-air kino in Kreuzberg is the perfect opportunity to get all cosy under the night sky. It’s set in an incredible location and they offer a great selection of films shown on an enormous screen. Get in early to grab a good seat and bring a pizza and some drinks along if you want to make it a dinner affair. Perfect for a hot summer date, they also provide blankets to snuggle up.

Fall in love on a historical landmark from World War II. This huge hunk of concrete is the perfect perch to watch the sun go down over the city. Bring a picnic and some drinks to celebrate the fact that you’re not alone anymore, and that this former tower of war has now been transformed into a special spot to take a date.

5. Salsa Night at Museum Island

Museum, Theater

Every Thursday night take the opportunity to whisk your lover off their feet with an open-air salsa night at a beach bar along the river Spree. It has all the elements to be a knock-out evening: sexy, latin-infused rhythms paired with fiery footwork, nostalgia-inducing soft-bulb lighting, the beautiful dome of the Bode Museum in the distance and the moon making reflections in the water. Dance the night away for a €4 fee.

6. Island of Youth

Bridge, Park

Stay forever young and in love with a trip made for two to the Insel der Jugend (Island of Youth) near Treptower Park. Right on the outskirts of the hustle and bustle of the city, you can enjoy a day packed with date-worthy activities, starting on the adorable Abteibrücke (Abbey Bridge), the oldest composite steel bridge in Germany. Live music happens every Sunday, but why not take the date to the next level and listen in from your own private paddle boat, which can be rented nearby.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
