We Love Green Music Festival 2016

An eco-friendly music festival held this year at Bois de Vincennes, on the outskirts of Paris. This event, revolving around all things green, is a place where eco-minded people meet and enjoy a variety of beats under the sun.

Two stages reveal an up-beat lineup focused on a range of music genres, from folk, indie and rock to electro and pop, here you will find a sound for all preferences. Focusing on Music, Art, Nature and Food, whilst maintaining the green and eco-friendly aspect, We Love Green started in 2011 and has previously taken a capacity of up to 13,000 people.

Since summer will be well set in, what more of a perfect way to spend your weekend than soaking up the sunshine outdoors. Fresh floral odors along with the sky scraping tree line sets the unflawed tone for this event. From biodegradable food and cutlery to the wind and solar powered eco-friendly stage design, if you are all about sustainability then this is the festival for you.

On Saturday the June 4th, the gates will open at 13h00 sharp, mind-blowing bands with soothing sounds will kick off the weekend. Let the music from LCD Sound System evolve smoothly in your ear. , According to frontman James Murphy, this dance, punk, rock act from America, thrives on ‘standing in front of people doing things loudly‘. Murphy aims to capture all moods and emotions with his music. Inspired by the wonderful world we live in, what better way to enjoy resonances from the bands than outside in the park.

Hot Chip will also take to the stage with their unique twist on contemporary music. Setting the perfect tone for relaxation and dance simultaneously, let their sound restore the funk in your moves. PNL, which stands for Peace N’Love, is the perfect fit for We Love Green. Originating in France, watch this alternative rap group light up the stage. Other ear-catching DJs and bands for Saturday includes Amon Tobin, Hudson Mohawke, Floating Points, FKJ and L’Imperatrice.

PJ Harvey is the main act for Sunday. Her talent as a poet heavily influencing her music, PJ Harvey has been in the music industry since 1991. Soon after kick-starting her career in the music industry she was named ‘Best Songwriter’ and ‘Best New Female Singer’ in 1992 by Rolling Stone magazine. Proficient in a wide range of instruments including drum and guitar, you are bound to be in for a show with PJ Harvey.

Next up, the electronic sounds from French band AIR will take place on the open aired stage. Jean-Benoît Dunckel & Nicolas Godin playing in their hometown, Paris, will help you get lost in a psychedelic rock state. Thomas Wesley Pentz also known as Diplo will bring his dance floor mix tape projects to the stage on Sunday. Other live music in store for you on the 5th June includes Kelela, Ame, Fatima Yamaha, Superpoze and Jacques.

We Love Green festival also loves children. As seen in previous years, the French are eager to enjoy this event with young children. Get some baby headphones for the noise as well as a pouch and you can dance the weekend away without hiring a babysitter. The fresh outdoors can be the ideal summer weekend setting for families’ as well as the youth.

At this small Parisian event you can surround yourself with like-minded people who care for the environment. Listen to lectures and advances in ‘how to be more green’, have a drink and enjoy some live music. Young, old, hippie, happy, tree-hugger, or simple music and sun lover, this is the festival for you. With memorable performances and eco-friendly conversations, allow yourself to enjoy a weekend in the sizzling sun.
