Traviata At Opéra Bastille

Picture of Anya Schukin
Updated: 27 May 2016
Sit back and let your heart break into a million exquisite pieces at Verdi’s tragic opera. Adapted from Alexandre Dumas’ La Dame Aux Camélias (and later reincarnated into Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge!), this opera promises all the drama and heartache of the Italian genre. The story follows Violetta, a Parisian courtesan dying of consumption, who is compelled to sacrifice her last chance at happiness for the sake of her lover. This is one of Verdi’s most popular operas, and even those unfamiliar with the genre will certainly recognize several of the phenomenal arias. Bring tissues – this opera will leave the most stoic hearts in shambles.

📅 Until June 29, 2016
