The five-star Maison Souquet is a secret refuge tucked away off the Rue de Bruxelles. Here, the luckiest romantics can bathe in luxurious opulence, only a stone’s throw away from the famed Moulin Rouge in Montmartre. The sensuality of its subversive architecture can be sensed at every turn.
The hotel’s decor was created by top French interior designer Jacques Garcia. It’s described on the hotel’s site as an ‘unaffected combination of Arabian style and Napoleon III plush in an eclectic collection of furniture, artwork, and paintings whose authenticity infuses the spirit of the place, magical and enchanting.’
The venue certainly lives up to these ambitious expectations with velvet-lined furniture, wooden panels, huge mirrors and chandeliers in abundance.
Maison Souquet is a very small scale endeavour as there are only 20 rooms in total (14 rooms and 6 junior suites). However, the hotel makes up for this with its private spas, 5* butler service, and ‘rain of roses’ to dazzle the most romantic hearts.
The decor is full of both elegance and mystery with a relaxing open conservatory blossoming in ivy and jasmine. You can soak up its splendour from its quirky swan-shaped benches.
Your vision is not the only sense to be seduced here, but also your taste-buds. The tea leaves are proudly hand-picked from a Chinese garden by Master Tseng, and their hot chocolate is not complete without a selection of delicious black truffles. The craft abbey beers are simply delightful and cocktails are concocted using only the finest spirits.
The ultimate gem of Maison Souquet is the secret spa, decorated with a celestial ceiling whose golden stars sparkle across a cobalt blue sky. It’s a captivating experience that reaffirms its fairytale magic, perfect for romantic dreamers.
