Bentu means the ‘country of birth’ in Chinese and alludes to a reinterpretation of the current Chinese contemporary art scene. This is the first exhibition in ten years dedicated to Chinese contemporary art in France. Through the lens of 12 contemporary Chinese artists, the Fondation Louis Vuitton showcases a variety artworks with different styles and techniques, but all that seek to answer the same question: what is cultural identity in a globalized world?
