Arte Povera, or Poor Art, is an art movement that emerged in the 1960s and explored the process of art creation using only basic and essential materials. Arte Povera was influential in the field of music, design, architecture, theater and experimental cinema, often using natural materials and recovering them in order to give them a new symbolic power. The Pompidou Centre explores the works produced by this movement, and by those who have outlived its spirit today.
