Perfume and aftershave are a staple of any good Christmas shopping expedition. It may not be the most original gift but you can’t fault a classic. That being said, Paris is the home of perfume and you can buy fragrances here that you’ll find nowhere else in the world. Our pick of the bunch is the Maison Francis Kurkdjian. Not only is the store officially one of the most beautiful in the city, the scents they have created are simply exquisite.
Open Monday to Saturday 11AM to 2PM and 3PM to 7:30PM, and Sunday 12PM to 2PM and 3PM to 7PM.

The only thing better than getting a gorgeous piece of jewelry is knowing that it came from an ultra-exclusive store, so chic that it was there and gone in a month. The must-have earrings, necklaces, and bracelets for Parisians this year can be found at the Pascale Monvoisin pop-up store in the 1st arrondissement. Get there before December 22nd to find something extraordinary to make someone’s Christmas morning.
Monday to Sunday until December 22nd 11AM to 7:30PM.
Shakespeare and Company
You can’t put a price on the gift of knowledge, but for the best and most reasonably priced English-language books in Paris, head to the legendary Shakespeare and Company. Without a doubt the most famous bookstore in the city, it has welcomed Ernest Hemingway, James Joyce, and Gertrude Stein over the years. Anyone who loves literature will most likely have heard of this place and will certainly appreciate being given a book from here.

Le Petit Souk
If you have children to pick up presents for but don’t want to go down the commercial toy route then we suggest going to Le Petit Souk. You can find clothing, furniture, games, and cuddly toys as well as funky decorations.
Open Monday 2PM to 7PM, and Tuesday to Saturday 10AM to 7PM.

Moustaches in the Marais is the best store in Paris for pet clothes and accessories. Now, your dogs, cats, rabbits, and budgerigars may not be able to go out and buy you something to put under the tree (and they will probably try to tear this down at some point over the festive period) but they have been giving you love and putting up with your human BS all year and deserve something special just like everybody else!
Monday to Friday 9:30AM to 7:30PM, Saturday 9:30AM to 8PM, and Sunday 12PM to 7PM.
