So, we think we may have stumbled upon the most beautiful village in the world – oh, and it was the town that inspired the opening scene of Walt Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, so you know it’s already pretty. And with the revamped version being released in cinemas this month, what better way to inspire a little cheeky European vacation. Are we right?

Deep in France’s Alsace region (the best place for a good wine), you’ll find a pretty town that goes by the name of Eguisheim…

It’s so pretty, we’re not even that surprised the place inspired the opening scene in Walt Disney’s Beauty and the Beast!

Ranked one of the most beautiful villages in France, the town won the gold medal contest of the European Entente Florale back in 2006 (basically it has the prettiest flower pots in France). Impressive? Mais, oui!

And in May 2013 it was voted the ‘Village préféré des Français’ (favourite French village), an annual distinction that passes from town-to-town throughout France.

Aside from the beautiful houses and gorgeous alleyways, the whole village is surrounded by stunning vineyards. And yes, that means plenty of wine tasting tours too.
