The district of Moulins, located in Lille, is quite an eclectic neighborhood and the bars between its streets reflect just that. All the local joints are friendly, well staffed and exude unique vibes. Here is a collection of some of the best ones around.

La Rumeur

La Rumeur is a bar unlike its neighbors. This venue is a coffeehouse and bar combined together with good eats and great drinks. The brewery on-site has been upgraded and only serves up regional specialities so that guests can get a taste of the Lille area. With nightly shows and concerts, the entertainment is a key attraction factor for the night spot.

La Machine

This bar is located around the corner and within walking distance from most major attractions in the city. It is a wonderful place to unwind after a long day with a few drinks. The casual atmosphere makes it the best place to have some fun while dancing to loud live music. On Tuesdays, the bar offers game nights for the visitors that swing by.

La Boulangerie Bar

This local bar is the talk of the town. The prices are affordable and the variety of drinks is unrivalled. One of the smaller bars in the district but typically packed out throughout the week, this one boasts a casual atmosphere that is great for a meet up with a few friends. The interior is tight-knit, cosy and cutting edge all at the same time, with art spread over the walls and chattering groups occupying the alcoves.

Le Dandy

For something a little more out of the ordinary, drop by Le Dandy; a hipster venue that has a more eclectic vibe with its chilled music. Although the staff are predominantly French speaking, they are more than willing to help foreigners navigate the menu and drinks list. Inside, be sure to check out the stylish bar decor, created with mismatched wine boxes and slate-effect coverings.

Urban Bar

For the colder days, Urban Bar is the perfect venue to cozy up and enjoy a few drinks. Its heated terrace and wooden deck with patio heaters make it easy to sit outside and view city lights without getting frostbite in the winter. The bar is situated in the back and offers all the usual cocktails and beers. There’s a jazzy atmosphere and everyone here enjoys a chat.
