Finnish football fans are traveling in droves to their neighboring country Russia for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to watch the World Cup according to YLE, not even minding that Finland didn’t qualify for the competition this year. But to those who aren’t able to make the trip, there are still plenty of bars in the Finnish capital of Helsinki to enjoy the World Cup and hang out with other football fans with a glass of good Finnish beer and quality pub grub. A more classic, casual, local sports bar, Sportsbar Töölö is a popular meeting spot for hockey and football fans to enjoy the game or pre-game drinks before heading to the nearby Ice Hall. While the bar can be highly rowdy when games are playing, at other times it is quieter and a more ideal place for a drink and a chat while looking at the sports memorabilia on the walls.
