Denmark may be known as the country of Carlsberg, and its capital, Copenhagen, may be brimming with pubs and small breweries, but that doesn’t mean that wine enthusiasts won’t find plenty of places to savor their favorite drink. Our guide to the top 10 wine bars will help you find the city’s best places, both casual and more sophisticated, that put wine at the epicenter.

If you like wine but not the pretentious atmosphere that wine bars sometimes have, or the high prices, Vinhanen is your place. Here, bartenders fill their clients’ glasses or bottles from five huge steel tanks with wine that is produced in France, Italy, and Germany, and they even offer a takeaway option for those who can’t resist a glass of Vinhanen’s wine but prefer to savor it in one of Copenhagen’s beautiful parks. Both Vinhanen, in Nørrebro and in Vesterbro, attract a mixed crowd of millennials and older wine enthusiasts. Prices start at 50DKK (US$8) for a glass of wine.

3. Ravnsborg Vinbar

With approximately 100 wine bottles on its shelves, Ravnsborg Vinbar can satisfy even the most demanding wine connoisseurs.
