Ærø island simply couldn’t be missing from this list. The tiny island in Funen Archipelago is one of the most popular destinations for a romantic getaway or a short city escape. Whether you want to enjoy the glorious sunset or just take a dive, Vesterstrand north of Ærøskøbing is the place to go. Dotted with colourful beach huts and covered with sand and pebbles, Vestertrand will captivate you with its unspoiled beauty.

2. Ristinge Beach

With a 140-kilometre coastline, finding a beach on Langeland island in south Funen is anything but difficult. But those who want to save some time looking for the most impressive sandy beach should head directly to Ristinge at the south-west part of the island. Here, visitors will find a spectacular landscape comprised of the wide sandy beach, dunes and grassy hills. Feriepark Langeland offers a camping site, cabins and holiday flats.

3. Christiansminde Beach

Christiansminde beach in Svendborg is a real favourite among locals and tourists. On a warm sunny day, you’ll see a mixed crowd of young and old people sunbathing, taking some dips from the wooden jetty or playing at the playground. The vast vegetation around the beach adds an exotic tone to the already magnificent location while Hotel Christiansminde offers a spectacular view over the beach and the marina.

5. Nordstrand- Kerteminde

Being the most popular beach in Kerteminde town, Nordstrand attracts a great number of tourists and locals when the sun hits Denmark’s sky. Its shallow waters and sand-covered coast in combination with the numerous facilities for leisure activities make it the ideal place for families with kids.

6. Vejlby Fed Beach-Middelfart

Situated at the westernmost point of Funen, the coastal town of Middelfart offers a last glimpse of the island’s beauty to visitors who are about to leave the charming Funen behind for diverse Jutland. There are numerous beaches around the area but Vejlby Fed Strand is the most popular. Awarded with the Blue Flag certification that proves the water is as clean as it looks and with a seabed covered in sand, Vejlby Fed beach has earned the reputation of a child-friendly beach.

7. Enebærodde Beach

Enebærodde is a small peninsula in the north of Funen separating Odense Fjord from Kattegat Sea. Surrounded by sea, Enebærodde is home to a long coastline that stretches on both sides of the island. The beaches here are quiet and peaceful surrounded by an unspoiled landscape, which consists of rich vegetation and Funen’s largest heath.

Perched on the top of Funen, Flyvesandet beach boasts a typical Danish landscape of crystal-clear waters and soft sand dunes. The beach attracts a mixed crowd of all ages and types and is a popular spot for windsurfing and kitesurfing.
