Brimming with beautifully designed loft apartments, and stately buildings, there is no shortage of gorgeous places to stay in Prague. Below we have rounded up our pick of the best Airbnbs in Prague.

Where do you even start with Prague? This European city more than holds its own when it comes to historical attractions, but why stop there? The city is awash with incredible dining (doughnut funnels filled with ice cream anyone?), drinking and adventuring experiences – from an old-school car tour of the city to a trip to the city’s hilltop vineyard. However, the charm of Prague doesn’t just stop with experiences; the city also has a lovely selection of homes and architectural delights, many housed in beautiful historical buildings.

1. Contemporary duplex loft

Housed in a Neo-Baroque building, with a spiral staircase inside the apartment and sweeping skylights, this loft-style apartment is the perfect example of the best of Prague accommodation. Boutique furnishing touches such as Kartell chairs, and a dining table by Rococo by Dwell provide an air of sophistication to this already lovely space. Situated a short walk from New Town, many of the city’s main squares and the Christmas and Easter markets, this is the perfect way to explore both the modern and old sides of the city. Finishing touches such as hotel-grade linen, toiletries and tea and coffee make this a hassle-free location of choice.

2. Designer loft at Wenceslas Square

Lofted ceilings, views over the spires of the city, and beautifully dark-stained hardwood floors, this apartment is an Airbnb dream. Top that off with an incredibly spacious living area, Miele appliances, a Nespresso machine and two ginormous bathrooms, and you have a true gem that you’ll be raving about long after your holiday. An easy stroll from many of the city’s main attractions such as the river, the Old Town and Wenceslas Square, and the central train station, the location makes exploring Prague as easy as stumbling upon your next trdelník (doughnut funnel cake).

4. New attic flat with unique view

Located in the Vinohrady area (literally translating to vineyard), this Airbnb is perfect for wine lovers, with multiple wine bars practically on your doorstep. This is an area of Prague that used to be affluent, and as such all the flats are housed in renovated stately homes – making for quite the grand stay. Known as one of the more cosmopolitan areas of Prague, and less obvious to tourists, Vinohrady is a buzzing local area – there are a number of restaurants and cocktail bars close by, as well as being right next to one of Prague’s biggest parks – Riegrovy Sady – home to an open-air beer garden. While the location is a perk, the flat itself certainly holds its own, too. Located on the attic level of one of the aforementioned stately homes, almost every room has breathtaking views over Prague. Sleeping six people in two bedrooms, this is the perfect place to park up with some friends and enjoy everything Prague has to offer.

5. Lovely Old Town apartment

Beautiful blonde parquet flooring, enormous windows with views over the bustling Old Town street below and an industrial style, brushed metal mezzanine bed make this not simply an apartment, but a visual delight. Stepping inside is like stepping into the home you always wished you had. With a separate twin bedroom, and a six-seater dining table, this is the perfect place for a couple or family (the kids will love the three plush toys looking after them while they sleep). Walking distance from all the main sights in the Old Town, and yet just set back enough that you can retreat from the touristy hustle when necessary, this is certainly a location that allows you to see it all.

6. Loft apartment right next to Charles Bridge

With the Charles Bridge just outside the front door, and the Old Town directly opposite, this apartment is perfectly situated for exploring all that the Old Town has to offer. Add to that the high, vaulted ceilings, whitewashed wood-panelled walls and soaring wooden beams, and you have a truly incredible spot in the heart of Prague. Made up of three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, with each space impeccably decorated, the flat is the perfect spot for a group of friends or larger family. Additional features that go above and beyond include a Nespresso machine, and all the facilities required for cooking and dining in – although you might not have time to, once you have made the most of all the host’s local recommendations.

7. Beautiful Old Town apartment

If it’s location you’re after, then this is the place for you. Just 20 metres (66ft) from Old Town Square, and walking distance from all the other main attractions, you won’t even need to touch public transport during your stay in Prague. With two huge, light-filled double rooms, a full-sized kitchen and a balcony overlooking an internal courtyard, you will have more than enough space to play with when staying here. The lovely hosts are passionate about the city in which they live, and treat Airbnb not simply as a business but as an opportunity to meet new people and introduce them to the city they love so much. Make the most of their passion and knowledge to have the best possible stay in Prague.

8. Designer apartment in Old Town

This apartment beautifully harnesses the old-school charm of Prague’s historical architecture, with incredible modern touches in the way of brushed concrete bathrooms, lush velvet and leather furnishings and exposed brick walls. The finished product has the air of an enviable New York loft space. Perfectly located smack bam in the middle of Old Town, it is the perfect spot for taking in the sights and after-dark lifestyle of Prague’s central area. It comfortably sleeps four people in two vast double bedrooms with accompanying en-suites, and beware that you may come home with a strong interior design inspiration, and a desire to completely renovate your home.

9. Two-bedroom colonial-style apartment by the river

Comfortably sleeping up to eight people between two rooms, this is a great place for a family or group of friends who don’t mind sharing an (albeit large) space. Made up of two double bedrooms, one with a huge king-size bed, the other with a king-size bed, sofa bed and amazing mezzanine sleeping space (accessed by an incredibly easy-to-navigate set of stairs), there are ample sleeping spots for all. With deeply stained wooden details, parquet flooring and enormous windows, you truly feel like you’re getting a unique stay. Situated in the New Town area, a short walk from the main sights, you are well placed for a wonderful visit to Prague.

10. Olive’s loft with sauna

This loft-style apartment, with its soaring ceilings, wooden accents and comfortable furnishings certainly has a ski chalet air about it, and makes for the perfect base from which to explore Prague during its most charming season – winter. A kitchen fully equipped with everything you need, including a coffee machine and a functioning sauna, make this the perfect oasis to return to after a long day of exploring. Being a short walk from the central train station, and placed perfectly between New Town and Old Town, makes this a great home base.

11. Mozart’s hideaway – Old Town

You would be hard-pressed to find a terrace with a better view than this. Overlooking the river, with the National Theatre directly in front, enough room for four people to dine comfortably and an enormous swing chair to enjoy in the summer months, the terrace truly is a selling point in itself. Add to this the hotel-style interiors, a ginormous bed, floor-to-ceiling windows and beautiful muted-tone furnishings, and you have the perfect apartment for your stay in Prague. Being a seven-minute stroll from Charles Bridge, and a 12-minute walk from Old Town Square, you get all the benefits of being close to the action, while being able to enjoy the local lifestyle in a residential suburb.

12. Trendy loft by the Charles Bridge

This beautifully renovated, industrial-style apartment, is rife with little design points. From tiled accents in the kitchen areas to a beautiful, raw wood countertop and pops of colour in the form of deep blue feature walls and kitchen cabinets, there is no shortage of interiors to be excited over. A short stroll down the riverside takes you to all the excitement of the central Old Town area, while the host is more than happy to provide a bevvy of local suggestions for places to eat, visit and drink.
