This hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Limassol, having been run by the same family since 1963. In 2010 it underwent a dramatic renovation and was transformed into a sleek contemporary hotel designed by architect Sotiris Psaras to epitomise laid back luxury with a touch of modern whimsy. The glass facade floods the relaxed lobby lounge bar with natural light, and there’s a sun-kissed pool terrace with another casual bar and restaurant. For something fancier, book a table at the Polo Bar Restaurant, which specialises in grill and Italian dishes. The stylish rooms cater mainly to couples, and the executive suite boasts a jacuzzi.

When it comes to dining, there’s plenty to choose from, including Matsuhisa Limassol by celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa, and Ristorante Locatelli, which follows in the footsteps of London’s Michelin-starred restaurant headed by chef Giorgio Locatelli. Step inside a slice of Limassol’s history at this boutique hotel in an 18th-century building in the old town that was formerly the city’s town hall. The two-story hotel, built around a central courtyard with an olive tree at its centre, is a celebration of architectural finesse. The 22 rooms are accessed via an imposing marble staircase, and each has a unique design with elegant furnishings paired with solid cypress floors, local stone and bronze details. The on-site restaurant is known for its pancakes, which are a popular brunch item. Fun fact: owner Natali Martini named the hotel after her great-grandfather, a successful entrepreneur who was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1955 for his social contributions to Cyprus.
