Brcko, a tiny autonomous region in northeast Bosnia, sits along the River Sava with Croatia to the north. Few outsiders make it to this small town with the title of ‘Europe’s only “free” city’, and those who do find travel challenging due to the lack of English and tourist infrastructure. Caffe Corso, a peaceful spot in central Brcko with strong Bosnian coffee, fresh juice and snacks is one of the hottest cafés in Brcko. You’ll always feel welcome, and drinks are inexpensive. The interior has a decorative brick wall and comfortable seats creating a warm atmosphere.

Locals fill the coffee shop from the moment it opens until closing time to talk and socialise with their friends. And you’ll feel like you’re far away from the tourist-centric cafés in Sarajevo or Mostar. Bar snacks and a selection of pastries are available with the drinks.
