The weekend is calling with another list of the best cultural events taking place in Brussels! With a mixture of ongoing and new art exhibitions, block parties and open-air concerts, we think it’s fair to say that summer is well on its way, even if the Belgian weather doesn’t agree.


EVENT | Host A Local Block Party

Also known as ‘Dag Van de Burnen,’ Neighbors’ Day is an opportunity for residents to get together and host local gatherings in the community.

ART | Kick Off The Latest Edition Of Parcours d’Artistes

Art knows no boundaries, and that is certainly true in the latest edition of Parcours d’Artistes: an art biennial celebrating the cultural scene of Saint-Gilles and Forest. This Friday kicks off the first of two nocturnal events with the official opening of artist workshops and exhibitions in Saint-Gilles, beginning at 6 pm. A culmination of installations and artworks by 500 artists will be on display May 28th-29th and June 4th-5th.


EVENT | Visit The European Union Institutions

This Saturday, the European Union (EU) opens its doors to visitors looking to learn a bit more about the history and culture behind the bodies spearheading its social, economic and political initiatives. Buildings situated in the European Quarter, Schuman roundabout, Rue Belliard and Place Luxembourg will be open to the public from 10 am-6 pm.

ART | Enter A Virtual Reality Through Contemporary Art  

Far from your average museum visit, the exhibition CONNECTED is an interactive project that allows viewers to become part of a virtual experience.


THEATRE | Catch A Final Performance For Kunstenfestivaldesarts

Before the Kunstenfestivaldesarts wraps up, catch one of its closing performances for a cultural night out. Head to Les Brigittines to watch the Okazaki Art Theatre troupe deliver a spectacular show based on Director Yudai Kamisato’s dual identity of Japanese and Peruvian heritage. The show starts at 6 pm, but don’t forget to stay for the Closing Party!

ART | View Vintage Hollywood Photographs At The ADAM

The Atomium’s Art and Design Museum or (ADAM) will host its first temporary exhibition based on the artistic work of Charles & Ray Eames.

MUSIC | Enjoy An Open-Air Concert In Place Poelaert

This Sunday, enjoy an open-air concert in the Place Poelaert hosted by Brüxsel Jardin. Inviting the best DJs of Brussels along with guest Berlin DJ U-MORE, individuals can plan to close the weekend in style! The concert starts at 12 pm, complete with great music and delicious food served up by Caravan Kitchen.

FILM | Watch A Screening Of Ai Weiwei, Never Sorry

Hosted by the Jacques Franck Cultural Centre, individuals can get a glimpse into the world of prominent Chinese artist Ai Weiwei through the lens of documentary filmmaker Alison Klayman. Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry captures the artist’s rise to fame and his profound yet controversial depiction of Chinese culture. The film begins at 8 pm.
