If you feel like introducing your little ones to the magic of the silent film early on, Anima – the Brussels Animation Film Festival – hosts its penultimate series of silent animation films for children this Saturday at Flagey Studio 5. Let them wonder googly eyed at the beautiful drawings of children book illustrator Leo Lionni, brought to life in a collection of five short films by Giulio Gianini. Sweet and poetic images without dialogue tell your kids all they need to know to follow the story. And for the cinematically inclined offspring, there’s the chance of following a special workshop at the end. After a break and a tiny snack, kids of four years old and up can explore the world of animation even further by being introduced to the fascinating techniques these movies are made up of.
