The Iris Festival 2016: Celebrate Brussels In Style

Picture of Culture Trip
Updated: 4 May 2016
This Saturday kicks off one of the biggest celebrations in the city! The Iris Festival is a two day event celebrating and uniting the capital through concerts, performances and several activities. On Saturday, Welcome Brussels invites individuals to explore the hidden gems of the city with the opportunity to discover places normally closed to the public. That evening, the Place des Palais turns into a techno haven with live performances by Kenn Colt, Kid Noize, Quentin Mosimann, and Bassjackers.

But the fun doesn’t end there! On Sunday, numerous cultural institutions and associations team up and take over the streets of Brussels with circus acts, workshops and plenty of food stands with the Brussels Food Truck Festival in full swing. Those in the mood for more live music can head to Laeken for ‘Rock Around the Atomium,’ a full rock concert with a 1950s vibe. Those that come dressed up in full vintage attire have the chance to visit the Atomium’s Expo 58 exhibition with a discount.

📅 Sat 7th May – Sun 8th May

📍Set in various locations around Brussels, for the full listing see the Iris Festival website
