Leading in Brussels’ upcoming international photography biennial is Open Spaces | Secret Places at BOZAR. In this main exhibition, 28 contemporary artists are united by their fascination with the space in which we live and create. Presented in wildly different ways by resounding names like Jeff Wall and the Belgian-born Francis Alÿs, the space in the works on display varies from imaginary to real, emotional to historical. A lifeline guiding us through is the question of our own lifestyle and the possibilities of the age we live in. What’s the meaning of a still picture in a world where we can be at one place in the morning and on another continent by noon?
