A happening for the more classically inclined, Festival Musiq’3 takes over concert hall Flagey and Théâtre Marni every year for three days of music, workshops, film and more. The relatively new festival – around since 2011 – is all about connection this year: the one between East and West and between past and present. Classically trained musicians give the best of themselves in all the classical forms imaginable, plus some jazzy and big band delights to boot. For the cinephiles there’s a special program dedicated to films in which East and West collide, including both of Tarantino’s Kill Bills and Jean Renoir’s gorgeous The River.
