D-Festival: Contemporary Dance Projects Represent Living Art

Picture of Culture Trip
Updated: 27 May 2016
An ongoing contemporary arts event, D Festival 6 touches upon the modern questions of today’s society, among which includes pondering the pace of life, creative processes and modern consumption through performance art. This weekend, the focus is on modern consumption and how we use animals for our own means. Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring works well with the contemporary dances, which range from funny to unsettling. Dancers are dressed in butcher’s clothing or are naked, and the line between humanity and the animal kingdom is skillfully erased. From mimicking the rhythms of an assembly line to the movements of the dead, you might need a strong stomach to enjoy Mas-Sacre.

Don’t forget to be on the lookout for more performances up until the 11th of June, 2016.

📅 Fri 3rd-Sat 4th June 2016, Mas-Sacre performance starting at 8:30pm

📍 Théâtre Marni, Rue De Vergnies 25, 1050 Brussels, Belgium
