While perhaps not known for its bold patriotism, Belgium does certainly serve up its own unique National Day that is just oozing with Belgitude. A day commemorating the inauguration of the first Belgian king, July 21st is more than just a welcome day off, but rather an opportunity to proudly wear that red, yellow and black around the capital and partake in some great activities. Check out the military services parade or head to the Royal Park and grab a Belgian beer while taking in the local entertainment. Don’t forget to stake out a spot to catch the fireworks display in the evening!
