Hotel Viktoria will have you feeling like royalty, without requiring a regal budget. As you’ll have guessed from the name, the Art Hotel Vienna is centred around all things artistic. The entire outside façade of the building is covered in an impressive mural, and it’s decorated inside with various artworks as well. Each room features a unique piece of art, and some rooms even have their own balcony or direct access to the courtyard. The hotel also offers a number of different cultural events, including wine tastings and art expositions. The in-house gallery is rented by various artists – call in advance if you want to know whose work is being showcased during your stay. The breakfast buffet offers something for everyone: fresh fruit, fried eggs, muesli or bread with ham and cheese. This hotel is only a 30-minute subway ride into the city and in a safe residential area, making it great for families.

The Altbau (old building) style of this hotel, distinguished by its tall ceilings and hardwood flooring, is typical of Viennese apartments built before World War II. The large windows provide plenty of natural lighting, and it’s only a short walk away from the famous shopping street of Mariahilferstraße – it doesn’t get much more central than this. The MuseumsQuartier is just a 10-minute walk away, while the Parliament, the Hofburg and the vibrant Mariahilf and Neubau Districts are all within walking distance. The light, bright rooms are set up with seating areas and comfortable beds; some rooms have shared bathrooms. The brightly decorated and spacious rooms have the option of extra pull-out beds, an ideal feature for young families. The hotel can also organise a babysitter for the little ones. If you feel like staying in for a relaxing day, there is a spa with a steam room, a sauna and massages. The hotel serves an array of fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh baked goods, as well as cheese and ham for breakfast in a modern and sleek breakfast room. The staff are multilingual and speak anything from English or German to Spanish or Korean.
