These days it’s practically a given that any summer festival will include wellness offerings—from Glastonbury’s Healing Fields to The Sanctuary at Wilderness—but at Wanderlust they’re front and center. Already well established in North America, the yoga festival—which this year is hosting events across 60 cities in more than 17 countries—comes to Europe this September and October with a mindful spin on the triathlon.
Wanderlust 108 is like a condensed version of the company’s longer 4-day festivals, where the headliners are world famous yoga teachers and the musical acts are straight off your local studio’s go-to vinyasa playlist.
Replacing the usual swimming-cycling-running combo, the day-long event facilitates a more laid-back and social kind of triathlon comprising a 5k run, 90 minute outdoor yoga class accompanied by a live DJ, and a 30 minute guided meditation led by “world renowned spiritual leaders.” At the London event that means LA-native Michael James Wong, a yoga and meditation teacher who’s at the forefront of the London mindfulness scene.
Once the triathlon part is all wrapped up there’s time to peruse wellness goodies, hang out and listen to live music, snack on organic food from local vendors, and try hooping or ariel-yoga workshops.
Wanderlust 108 will be arriving in East London’s Victoria Park on September 23, 2017, followed by several other European destinations: Italy, Milan on October 1, 2017; Portugal, Lisbon (Musea da Electricidade | Fundação edp) on October 8, 2017; and Spain, Barcelona (Forum Barcelona) on October 15, 2017.
