When you travel, don’t you prefer to stay somewhere unique and authentic that helps you to immerse yourself fully in the destination? We get it. TRIPS by Culture Trip are curated with hand-picked places to stay, from intimate boutique hotels to sustainable guest houses and rural retreats, all with bucket loads of personality and charm.

Boutique hotels that embrace local culture

On our 12-day Ultimate Turkey itinerary, you’ll soak up diverse sights in cities and seaside towns, exploring lunar-like landscapes and rivers. Stay in a selection of boutique hotels – from caves close to rock formations, offering hammams and seasonal feasts taken on the terrace, to historic mansions lined with local wood and stone, close to mosques and ancient markets.

With eight days to explore the Colombian Andes, you’ll become familiar with the sight of coffee farms amid spectacular scenery, as well as cosmopolitan cities. You’ll bed down in a variety of accommodation, including neighbourhood hotels dishing up Latin American delicacies and mountain-top lodges surrounded by unspoiled native forest, with Slow Food-style dishes sourced from local suppliers.

Remote and romantic sites surrounded by natural beauty

This five-day adventure through Iceland’s dramatic scenery packs in a super jeep drive following the Golden Circle, snowmobiling through the glacial wilderness and soaking in natural hot springs under the Northern Lights. You’ll stay in hip lodges powered by hot springs and snow-topped cabins on a riverside horse farm, all surrounded by memorable views.

Spend a week island-hopping the isolated Hebridean Isles, sampling the splendid sights – as well as Scottish whisky. The trip includes kayaking the Harris coastline and walking along wild beaches. Cosy up each night in tartan-decked townhouse rooms, a family-run cluster of converted fishermen’s cottages and a 19th-century waterfront hotel.

From wildlife-spotting cruises on the Kinabatangan River to hiking with scenic views of Mount Kinabalu and snorkelling the reefs off the coast of Kota Kinabalu, our nine-day Borneo trip reveals layer after layer of this rugged island. You’ll rest well in a blend of places to stay, including rainforest-fringed beach resorts on the edge of Borneo’s tropical wilderness and cottages in tea plantations.

Cosy guesthouses with roaring fires and hearty dinners

You’ll enjoy four days of snowshoeing and dog sled rides in the starkly beautiful Scottish Highlands, on our Scottish winter wonderland adventure. Activities include ice climbing, and, if conditions allow, viewing that elusive natural spectacle, the Northern Lights. Away from the cold, tuck into warming, locally sourced meals in a mountain lodge, and by the crackling fire of your historic highland haven – before a classic whisky nightcap.

Get ready for an action-packed five days of coasteering, foraging and zip-lining – they’re all part of our North Wales adventure, along with climbing Snowdon. In the midst of magnificent mountain country – Snowdonia National Park – you’ll stay in the renovated stables of a former coaching inn, dining on regional dishes and ales; expect also to bed down in an off-grid ecolodge with a BBQ, a firepit and kitchens created from recycled wood.

Ecolodges in the heart of a rainforest

Join our express eight-day Ecuador adventure from the Andes to the Amazon and you’ll be in for a fair few geological surprises – from volcanic landscapes to crater lakes and jungles. After each action-packed day, put your feet up in some highly scenic places to stay, including an Amazon rainforest eco-hideaway where the focus is on organic and seasonal food produced in the area.

Imagine nine dreamy days absorbing the jungly beauty of Costa Rica – and imagine your Instagram feed as you take in the volcanoes, cloud forests, wildlife, adrenaline activities and all-round natural beauty of this tiny Central American country. You’ll be in your element, spending balmy nights in relaxed ecolodges surrounded by some of that rain and cloud forest, with acres of protected biodiversity on your doorstep.

Rejuvenating hotels near nature

Get mind and body in shape on our wellness-focused four-day experience in California, by the shores of Lake Tahoe. Your stress levels will drop as you practise meditation and take hikes in the Sierra Nevada mountains beyond the blue waters. Relaxation will be easy – you’ll be staying in a midcentury modern mountain lodge with a hot tub, and plenty of s’mores for toasting by the fire.

Just two hours north of New York City, take time to reset and recharge in the Hudson Valley: four days of meditation, hiking and stand-up paddleboarding in the rolling hills of this charming region. After each activity, return to the luxury of a converted industrial building with a fitness space and spa treats. It’s adorned with original features and regional artistry, with meals of local specialties of the valley.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
