These Are the World's Cheapest Countries to Visit Right Now

The World Economic Forum (WEF) Travel and Tourism and Competitiveness Report has just been released, revealing the cheapest and the most expensive countries to visit right now.

The hefty report, which takes into account a multitude of things including cultural resources, safety, general health and infrastructure, named Spain as is this year’s greatest destination, followed by France and Germany. But it was the Top 20 for price competitiveness that raised the most eyebrows in the travel world.

If you’re working to a budget, here are the 20 cheapest places to travel to right now, according to the WEF Report:

20. Sri Lanka

Price Competitive rating: 5.55

Why visit? Stunning beaches, Yala National Park and plenty of opps to dive with blue whales and dolphins.

19. Nepal

Price Competitive rating: 5.58

Why visit? There are only 14 mountains in the world over 26,000 ft., and Nepal has eight of them, making it prime trekking territory.
