II BY IV DESIGN, the international, multi-faceted Toronto-based creative studio wins Overall Winner of the Year at the 16th Annual ABB LEAF (Leading European Architecture Forum) Awards.
Selected from 78 shortlisted entries, II BY IV DESIGN took home not one, but two awards last week at the ABB LEAF Awards 2017. The spectacular 55-storey residential tower, The Residences of 488 University Avenue – slated for completed in 2018 – was recognized as this year’s best architecture and interior design, and was awarded “Overall Winner of the Year” by the 10 juror panel.
II BY IV DESIGN also won the Interior Design Award 2017. The building’s entryway interiors feature rich wood paneling, glass walls, and Art Deco-inspired furnishings, while the 19th floor SkyLobby offers stunning views of downtown Toronto.
According to the press release, the luxury Toronto residential project, which includes 30,000 square feet of lifestyle amenities, was part of a collaboration with II BY IV DESIGN‘s client Amexon Development Corporation, and the building’s architect, CORE Architects.
These aren’t the first awards The Residences of 488 University Avenue has received, though. Last year, the firm took home the SBID (Society of British and International Design) International Design Awards for the Marketing Centre of the same project in the Show Flats and Development category, says the awards release. The project embodies an “extraordinary attention to detail,” and is both “thoroughly modern” and “luxurious” with high-end sophistication.
Judges for all awards included Kai-Uwe Bergmann (of BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group), Vanessa Brady (President of the SBID), and Michele Pasca di Magliano and Viviana Muscettola (of Zaha Hadid Architects).
