Montego Bay or Mo Bay, as it’s known locally, is Jamaica’s second city and the place where most tourists fly into. This is the vacation hub of Jamaica, set up for having a good time with plenty of hotels, beaches, bars, and restaurants. Despite the dominance of the all-inclusive hotels, there’s a lot happening in this holiday hotspot.

Get Out on the Water and Watch the Sunset

Board a luxury catamaran for a two-hour sunset cruise from Montego Bay. Enjoy a glass of champagne on the deck as the sun sets over the Caribbean Sea. Reggae music provides a suitable soundtrack for an onboard party. The cruise returns in plenty of time to carry on the party in one of MoBay’s many bars.

Take a Night Tour

Glistening Waters
Just a short distance from Montego Bay is the natural wonder of Glistening Waters. This natural lagoon contains millions of bioluminescent organisms that emit an eerie light when agitated. Organized boat rides offer visitors the chance to wave their hands in the waters and marvel at the ensuing natural light show. Come prepared and it’s even possible to swim in the water, creating an illuminated path as you move.

Rose Hall
One of the finest of the old great houses in Jamaica, Rose Hall is reportedly haunted by the white witch, Annee Palmer. The ghost of the former mistress of the house has been seen many times over the years. Eerie candlelit tours of this magnificent 18th-century house are sure to send shivers down the spine of even the most skeptical of visitors.

Party the Night Away

MoBay at night isn’t for the shy and retiring. Get out and hit the bars on Gloucester Avenue, or the hip strip, as it’s more commonly known. There’s something for all tastes here—reggae, nightclubs, jazz bars, and casual hangouts.
