The Best Tailors in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

You don’t have to head up all the way to Hoi An to get something tailored in Vietnam. There are plenty of tailor shops scattered around Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City as well, offering just as much talent and quality. Here is a list of the best tailors in Ho Chi Minh City.

Ho Chi Minh City has a plethora of tailor shops for you to get clothes made. Many are concentrated in the area of Pham Ngu Lao or Le Loi street. Some of them even have their own fabric shops right next door, and they’re really hard to miss. Many of these are great at what they do and have quick turnaround, however some stand out from the rest.

There are a few things you should decide on before you step into one of these stores. First, think of what you want—a dress, suit, pants? Perhaps just even a small handkerchief. Or how about an ao dai—the graceful and elegant Vietnamese national costume? There are some tailor shops that specialize in stitching these and you can check them out by clicking here.

If you can’t decide what you want, and just want something tailored for the heck of it, then you can ask the staff for inspiration. But if you do know what you want in advance, the next thing you need to do is choose the fabric. Once again, most tailor shops do have their own fabric but of course these may not be very diverse and they come at a premium. So buy it at the fabric market instead. Head over to An Dong market which is a sort of urban flea market where you can buy your usual market goodies. The second floor is a very colorful textile heaven. Once you sift through all the material and decide on your fabric, the vendors will help you out with how many meters you will need for your outfit.
