The rainy season continues in Thailand as August comes to an end. But September, the low season, is the perfect time to visit Bangkok, as you will find that you have some of the busiest tourist attractions all to yourself. While you may still encounter sudden downpours, clear skies are sure to follow and always bring a certain freshness to the air. And regardless of the season, there is never a shortage of things to do in Bangkok. Here, our guide to what’s on in Bangkok this September.

DANCE | Dance the night away at Levels night club

Levels Club & Lounge is known for having some amazing DJs and rounding up renowned performers such as the Dutch DJ duo GlowinthedarkGlowinthedark has collaborated with artists including David Guetta and Chuckie. Their September 1st show starts at 9pm.

MUSIC | Watch an epic audio-visual featuring some pretty cool bands

Up-and-coming artists will share the stage with acclaimed performers at the Tiger Jams ‘Center Stage.’  Newly-discovered artists Monkey Business Band, Mirrr, and 23’O will take the stage by storm at Bitec Bangna Hall at 4:30pm. These new acts will then be joined by some of Thailand’s most famous artists, including POLYCAT, Somkiat, and Jelly Rocket. They will also be joined by the world-famous band, CHVRCHES.

EVENT | Get inspired by the TEDxChulalongkornU: Take Off, Go For It

📅 Sunday, September 4th

TED events are always inspiring, and TEDxChulalongkornU: Take Off, Go For It should be no exception. The talk focuses on recent graduates and how, regardless of age, this younger generation has the capability to inspire change. Though they may no longer be attending university, these speakers are able to follow their passions. The talk will run from 1pm to 6pm.

ART | Become one with the art at this interactive installation exhibition

Witaya Junma presents a LAB/ART Interactive Installation Exhibition, designed for people to participate and interact with the projects. By doing so, participants will become one with the art projects, a combination of technology- and human interaction-based digital arts.

MUSIC | Simple Plan is making its way to Bangkok

📅 Thursday, September 8th 

Best known for their song ‘Summer Paradise,’ Simple Plan is returning to Bangkok for their Taking One For The Team Tour. This French-Canadian pop-punk band just released their fifth studio album. They will be performing at Moonstar Studio.

ART | Parade of Toys

Three artists will showcase their Art Exhibition: Parade of Toys this month. The exhibition addresses the subject of racial and cultural discrimination, the different roles we are ‘assigned’ in our everyday life by our social status, and pokes fun at it all.

MUSIC | Fullmoon Party at one of Bangkok’s trendiest markets

Bring in the fullmoon with some great music presented by ZAAP and SangSom. This two-day event will be held at Asiatique The Riverfront.  Yellow Claw and the Barong Family will play on Thursday, followed by DJ Snake, Mercer, and Heartbeat performing on Friday.

MUSIC | Enjoy folk music with Los-Angeles based Haroula Rose

Musician and filmmaker Haroula Rose is coming to Bangkok. This singer/songwriter’s music has been featured in television series, commercials, and films, and she has previously toured internationally. There will be an after-party following the show. The music starts at 9pm.

COMEDY | British stand-up comedian Jimmy Carr is coming to Bangkok

📅 Sunday, September 11th

Enjoy an evening filled with laughter with Jimmy Carr, one of the UK’s  most distinctive comedians. Carr does it all, including acting and stand-up comedy, and he is also a television host and has his own Netflix comedy special. This writer/actor will be coming to Bangkok on his new tour, Funny Business.

FESTIVAL | Get cultured at the International Festival of Music and Dance

The International Festival of Music and Dance returns to Bangkok this month. With 16 amazing performances from performers from 12 countries, it is surely a festival that cannot be missed. Performances include the ballet Swan Lake and Hollywood Sound of Cinema.

MUSIC | One of the world’s best a cappella groups is coming to Bangkok

📅 Tuesday, September 13th

Grammy Award-winning a cappella group Pentatonix is making their way to Bangkok. This five-person group has covered songs by many artists, including Meaghan Trainor. They have released three albums and a Christmas special since 2011, when they initially became popular on YouTube.

EVENT | Walk for a cause at the Global March for Elephants and Rhinos

📅 Saturday, September 24th

Walk with purpose at this year’s Global March for Elephants and Rhinos. This global movement is demanding an end to the trade in ivory and rhino horns. Last year, more than 130 cities around the world participated in the walk. The walk starts at 10am.

PARTY | Spend the day soaking in the sun at one of Bangkok’s coolest rooftop pools

SO POOL has been holding different pool parties around Bangkok. This event will be held at So Sofitel Bangkok, where the party has been split into two zones. Adam Lambert joins rock-n-roll legend Queen as their new lead singer on tour next month. The newly formed pair met on American Idol in 2009, and since 2011, they have occasionally performed together. This will be their first performance in Bangkok.
