What's On in Bangkok in February

February is one of the best times of the year to visit the Land of Smiles. With the dry season coming to a close, the weather is still great but there are fewer tourists. So, for those heading to Bangkok, here’s a selection of some of the best concerts, parties and other events taking place next month.


CONCERT | Lostage on stage in Bangkok

📅 Thursday, February 2

Japanese rock band, Lostage, will play Bangkok’s Play Yard by Studio Bar. They’ll be joined by the likes of Inspirative, PLOT and Safeplanet. The show will start at 8:00 pm and end at 11:00 pm.

FESTIVAL | Dance the Night Away at the Mystic Valley Festival

📅 Friday, February 3 – Sunday, February 5

Mystic Valley Festival is back and it’s better than ever. The venue is the stunning Mountain Creek Resort in Khao Yai National Park. This three-day festival will welcome more than 50 international DJs who will perform on four different stages. There’ll also be pool parties, food trucks, a daily flea market, and lots more to keep festivalgoers entertained for the whole weekend.

Tickets: ฿2,999 for pre-sale general admission, ฿5,490 for pre-sale VIP tickets, ฿3,999 for a combo general admission package, and ฿6,490 for a combo VIP package

FESTIVAL | Music Festival in Khao Yai National Park

📅 Saturday, February 4

This year’s Rimpha Music Festival 5 is also taking place in Khao Yai. The line-up includes DJs Polycat, Palmy, Big Ass and Slotmachine. The festival gets underway at 3:00 pm.

ACTIVE | Run the Bangkok Marathon in the Old City

📅 Sunday, February 5

The Bangkok Marathon is back in the City of Angels on Sunday, February 5. Runners can take part in a mini-marathon, half marathon, or the full marathon. The route winds through the Old City and takes in some iconic buildings such as the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew. The runners will set off from Phitsanulok Road.

PARTY | Celebrate with the Mustache Bar

📅 Tuesday, February 7 – Wednesday, February 8

Mustache Bangkok will mark its two-year anniversary in February. To celebrate, the bar is offering its regular partygoers free food and drink from 10:00 pm until midnight. Sounds will be courtesy of DJs including Fred Canal, Alex Fischer and Ben Goldman and the party will carry on until 5:00 am.

ART | Sebastião Salgado at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre

📅 Wednesday, February 8 – Wednesday, March 8

Sebastião Salgado is a Brazilian documentary photographer. He only took up photography in his 30s, but quickly impressed the art world with his stunning photographs. Sebastião Salgado: The World Through His Eyes is Salgado’s first major exhibition in Thailand and it showcases three of his most powerful collections. These are: Workers (1986-1992), Exodus (1993-1999), and his newest piece, Genesis (2004-2011). The exhibition is on the 8th floor of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre.

FOOD | Guest Chef Program at the Issaya Cooking Studio

📅 Wednesday, February 8 – Sunday, February 12

French chef, Alain Passard, will be among some of the top chefs taking part in the Guest Chef Program at the Issaya Cooking Studio.

PARTY | Techno DJs at Live RCA

📅 Sunday, February 12 – Monday, February 13

Ephemeral at Live RCA invites you to party the night away with international techno DJs such as Canadian DJ John Acquaviva, Sunju Hargun, and HOBO. The night will kick off at 9:00 pm and end at 2:00 am. Guests must be aged 20+.

CONCERT | Goo Goo Dolls at the BCC Hall

📅 Tuesday, February 13

American rock band, Goo Goo Dolls, will take to the stage at the BCC Hall on February 13. Doors open at 6:00 pm.

Tickets: Approximately ฿2,000-฿2,200 at the door

MUSIC | The MAYA Music Festival in Pattaya

📅 Friday, February 17 – Saturday, February 18

Thailand will welcome a plethora of international DJs at the MAYA Music Festival. The line-up has yet to be finalised but concertgoers can expect to see Blasterjaxx, KSHMR, Timmy Trumpet, Far East Movement, Showtek, Julian Jordan and Tiësto. The festival will get underway at 3:00 pm. Guests must be aged 18+.

Tickets: Two-day general admission tickets from ฿4,000-5,000 and VIP tickets from ฿6,000-8,000

FESTIVAL | Food, fun and music at Wonderfruit

📅 Thursday, February 16 – Sunday, February 19

Wonderfruit at the Siam Country Club will feature a line-up of world class DJs. The three-day festival also offers food stalls and children’s activities as well as a wide range of talks and workshops.

CARNIVAL | Answer the call to the Gypsy Carnival

📅 Saturday, February 18

Gypsy Carnival II will take place at Tonphung Farm in Suan Phueng, Ratchaburi. The line-up for this music and lifestyle festival, known as ‘Butterflies Calling’, includes Suki & Boyd, Polycat and Jelly Rocket. And as well as the usual food trucks on site, there’s a flea market well worth browsing.

SHOPPING | Get your kicks at the Sneaker Party

📅 Saturday, February 18 – Sunday, February 19

One of the biggest markets in Bangkok, the Sneaker Party, will have its usual abundance of stalls selling one too many pairs of sneakers. And as well as new and second hand goods, visitors to this market will also enjoy a live performance by Urboytj.

MARKET | Shop for fashion at Bangkok’s Sansiri Market Fest

📅 Saturday, February 18 – Sunday, February 19

Sneaker Party will have to compete with Sansiri Market Fest, as both markets take place on the same weekend. Shoppers at Sansiri can pick up fashionable clothes and delicious food at stalls that are open from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm.

MUSIC | Guitarist Joe Satriani at CenterPoint

📅 Sunday, February 19

American solo guitarist, Joe Satriani, will be performing in Bangkok this February. Satriani has six gold and platinum discs to his credit. He has sold more than 10 million albums, making him the world’s most commercially successful solo guitarist. The concert starts at 6:00 pm.

CONCERT | Animals As Leaders With Special Guest Nick Johnston Performing Live

📅 Thursday, February 23

Animals as Leaders with Nick Johnston will be coming to Bangkok to perform their only show in Southeast Asia at The Rock Pub.

ART | Harit Srikhao at the Kathmandu Photo Gallery

📅 Saturday, February 25

Photographer Harit Srikhao’s exhibition, ‘A Boy Who Was Kidnapped By Time,’ displays images of a number of of different children, shot against different backgrounds in a variety of locations. Srikhao is said to have been inspired by the dark, childhood memory of losing a friend. The exhibition closes on February 25.

EXHIBITION | Artist Erwin Wurm at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre

📅 Saturday, February 25 – Sunday, February 26

Austrian Erwin Wurm presents his interactive exhibition, The Philosophy Of Instructions, at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre. It’s the first time the artist has brought this exhibition to Thailand.

FILM | The Bangkok Underground Film Festival

📅 Saturday, February 25 – Sunday, February 26

The Bangkok Underground Film Festival will feature work by local and international filmmakers. The categories include dramas, feature films, documentaries and short films. Screenings will take place between 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm.

CONCERT | Guns N’ Roses to play Bangkok gig

📅 Tuesday, February 28

American rockers, Guns N’ Roses, are coming to the City of Angels. The Not In This Lifetime Tour will make its final stop in Southeast Asia at Bangkok’s SCG Stadium.

Tickets: Prices range from ฿3,500 to ฿24,000
