Koh Lanta is one of several gorgeous islands off the coast of Krabi in southern Thailand. With a laid-back vibe, sandy beaches and plenty of cultural sites, Koh Lanta offers some excellent hotels and guesthouses. Here are some of the best places to stay when visiting this beautiful island in the Andaman Sea.

1. Lanta Corner Resort

Lanta Corner Resort is located right on the beach and close to Koh Lanta’s main pier at Saladan. The resort has private villas and bungalows, each with three glass walls, letting in plenty of light and offering up some fabulous views. Don’t worry though, there are curtains to protect your modesty. All rooms are ensuite and bathrooms have deep tubs, rainfall showers and free toiletries. There’s also a restaurant and lounge bar, an inviting outdoor pool and a sunbathing terrace.

2. Lanta Lapaya Resort

Lanta Lapaya Resort has an enviable position close to one of Koh Lanta’s best beaches. The family-friendly resort has a large outdoor swimming pool and a children’s pool as well as stunning gardens and a restaurant. Breakfast is included in the nightly rates and room service is available throughout the day and into the evening. Explore the area by rented bicycle or book an island tour to maximise your time on Koh Lanta. You can arrange varied activities with the resort, including massages, muay Thai sessions, yoga classes and cooking lessons. All villas have their own balcony and bathroom in addition to a TV, free wifi, safe and refrigerator. Daily housekeeping services keep the living space clean and tidy for the duration of your trip.

3. Andaman Lanta Resort

Andaman Lanta Resort sits close to the silky sands of popular Khlong Dao Beach. You can be there within a couple of minutes of waking up, but there are also plenty of things to keep you busy within the resort itself. Cool down in the sparkling pool and sunbathe on the terrace, stroll through the lush grounds and enjoy tasty Thai fare at the on-site restaurant. Alternatively, book a range of tours to explore farther afield. All accommodation is ensuite and comes with a balcony, whilst there’s a choice between standard and deluxe rooms and bungalows, some of which have pool views.

5. Crown Lanta Resort and Spa

Crown Lanta Resort and Spa is a stunning beachfront hotel in the north of Koh Lanta. Sitting on a small outcrop surrounded by the sea on three sides, the hotel has epic views of the nearby island of Koh Raeng. Not only does the hotel have two beautiful swimming pools where you can cool down, soak up the sun and enjoy the swim-up bar, Crown Lanta also boasts a private beach. Enjoy some pampering and TLC in the high-class spa, where you can choose between a range of massages, facials, beauty therapies and other treatments. Alternatively, get active in the fitness centre and work up an appetite for dinner in one of the two excellent on-site restaurants.

6. Phutara Lanta Resort

Phutara Lanta Resort sits almost halfway between Khlong Khong Beach and Lanta Secret Beach. If you’re feeling active you can walk to Long Beach in around half an hour, though free shuttles are provided and are ideal for beating the heat. All rooms are individually decorated and furnished whilst communal areas include a sunny terrace and garden, a pool with a bar and an on-site restaurant.

7. Chomview Resort

Chomview Resort is located close to Phra Ae Beach, also known as Long Beach. Rooms sleep two, though connecting rooms are available and there are also villas with room for two people. The hotel has a pool, with a separate area for younger guests, and there’s plenty of space for little ones to run and play in the gardens. Trip and ticket-booking services are offered whilst laundry facilities are also available.

8. Lanta Intanin Resort

The three-star Lanta Intanin Resort can be found close to the sands of Klong Nin Beach, an area known for its excellent beach bars and restaurants. The peaceful resort has just 16 rooms, all of which have a private bathroom and balcony. Cribs and rollaway beds are handy for families whilst the high-speed wifi makes this a favourite for those looking to get some work done.

9. Laguna Beach Club Resort

Laguna Beach Club Resort is a high-end Koh Lanta hotel with excellent facilities. Within easy reach of nearby beaches, the hotel has a large outdoor swimming pool set amid beautifully landscaped grounds.
