The exterior of Krua Apsorn is anything but flashy. A simple blue sign is the only indicator that restaurant-goers are at the right place. While the establishment’s décor may seem mundane at best, the food is anything but. It is so delicious, in fact, that both the Thai royal family and food critiques visit this quaint establishment often. The menu is in Thai, but is chock full of photos, making it easy for customers to simply choose and point when ordering. With few tourists in sight, those who visit will be pleased with both its authentic atmosphere and Thai cuisine.

2. May Veggie Home

Restaurant, Thai, Vegan, Vegetarian

There are one to many dishes vegetarians and vegans alike have to miss out on because of their dietary needs. Thanks to May Veggie Home, Thai curry is no longer one of them! Located in the heart of downtown, this delicious eatery has been serving up 100 percent vegan cuisine since 2013. Some of May Veggie Home’s curry dishes include vegetarian shrimp and vegetables in phanaeng curry (฿220), massaman curry (฿149 small and ฿220 large), green curry with tofu (฿149 small and ฿220 large), and more.

This restaurant is one of seven total restaurants and bars located inside of the five-star Siam Kempinski Hotel. Their curry dishes include their Maine lobster salad with frozen red curry (฿650), cod fish in green curry and beetroot (฿890), and more.

5. Cabbages & Condoms

Restaurant, Thai

Do not let its quirky name fool you: Cabbages & Condoms is serving up some of the most mouthwatering and authentic of Thai cuisine in Bangkok, in addition to a good helping of sex education. Located right off the BTS Skytrain Station Asok, this restaurant certainly knows how to create a memorable atmosphere. From the lush entryway to its romantic outdoor dining area, visitors will fall for the décor almost as hard as they fall for the delectable dishes. While all of Cabbages & Condoms menu options are noteworthy, the Thai curries remain a top choice for restaurant-goers. An entire section of the menu is dedicated to these dishes, serving up everything from New Zealand lamb sweet curry with potato (฿470) to a more traditional option such as their green curry (฿220 or ฿270 with meat). As customers finish their delicious meals, they will be left full, content, and given a few free rubbers, courtesy of Cabbages & Condoms.

Its lively décor and vibrant interior may first lure in customers, but its delicious menu is what will turn them into regulars. Supanniga Eating Room has two central locations in the city in addition to its new cruise dining experience on the Chao Phraya River. Visitors can not go wrong with any one of these three venues. While the locations differ, one thing that remains constant are its delicious menu options. The menu is extensive, with plenty of Thai curries to go around. Some of its most noteworthy curries include its chewy, homemade fish balls in a rich green curry, as well as its chopped pineapple curry with fresh mussels.

Inter Restaurant, serving up both Chinese and Thai dishes, was founded in 1981 and has been pleasing customers ever since. Now, with three different locations around Bangkok, it remains one of visitors’ favorite restaurants to frequent while visiting the City of Angels. Restaurant-goers are not going to break their banks shelling out baht, as all of its delicious dishes are quite affordable. The dining area is anything but lavish, but what Inter Restaurant lacks in luxury it surely makes up for in taste. The curry dishes are high class, and there are a plethora to choose from. Many visitors will find that restaurants take it easy on foreigners when it comes to how spicy a dish is, and this is certainly not the case at Inter Restaurant. All of the curry dishes are packed with not only flavor but are incredibly spicy, as well. Those diners who can not handle the heat should be sure to inform the staff when ordering. Some of their best curry dishes include the roasted duck in red curry sauce with rice (฿85), green curry with a choice of pork, beef, chicken, or catfish (฿100), and the chicken curry with rice and a boiled egg (฿75).

9. Queen of Curry

Restaurant, Thai, Asian

Queen of Curry is a family-run business, and it is both a cozy and comfortable restaurant to visit. Its modest decor is welcoming and perfect for those hoping to have a casual meal. Hanging, colored umbrellas are intertwined with glowing lights and green foliage, lighting up its outdoor seating area. While its décor is certainly not flashy, the curry dishes at Queen of Curry are fit for royalty (pun intended). There are a variety of curries to choose from, with everything from red curry with duck to massaman curry with chicken.

10. Baan Ice

Restaurant, Thai

Made popular by its authentic Thai food but notorious for its delicious curry dishes is Baan Ice, located off the BTS Skytrain Station Thonglor. The two-story restaurant is made up of floor-to-ceiling windows, with comfortable seating for diners throughout. These dishes certainly are not catered to dull palates, with the restaurant being home to some of the most delicious yet spicy Southern curries in town. While all of the dishes served up at Baan Ice are noteworthy, some of the most memorable ones are its spicy curry dishes, including curry based rice dishes as well as soups.
