Taipei’s Xinyi District is famous for being home to the iconic Taipei 101 building, as well as high-end shopping and dining. For an upscale night out on the town, locals and travelers know to head to this popular district. Here’s our guide to Xinyi’s best bars.

Though the drinks at Frank are great, it’s the bar’s night-time view of the city that draws the crowds. Rising ten stories high over the lights of Xinyi in the ATT 4 FUN building, this glamorous venue is a hot spot for anyone looking for a classy place to chill with friends. The interior is stylishly decorated and offers plenty of seating, though guests can enjoy the fresh air and view of Xinyi from the balcony instead. Frank is a great spot to relax, chat and have a drink.

This posh bar is located on the fifth floor of the Neo19 shopping center and is a popular hangout for the trendy crowd. Smartly dressed patrons lounge, enjoy cocktails and sometimes snag a celebrity sighting or two. The decor is chic, with dim lighting and plush booths scattered throughout the premises. Guests can also opt for private rooms or balcony seating where the lights of the city twinkle below. There’s also the VIP area, simply called The Den, where patrons can enjoy privacy and prime service.

Located across the street from Taipei 101 is Marquee, a premium bar and lounge suited for anyone craving a side of luxury with their drink. The bar’s swanky, modern interior is made for lounging in style and rubbing shoulders with fashionistas and the occasional local celebrity. The bar calls itself the home of ‘world class bartenders’ and takes pride in consistently serving first class drinks. Marquee hosts a variety of special events throughout the week, including a Jazz Night on Tuesdays and Sundays, and an Old School R&B night with shot specials on Wednesdays.

Perched on the tenth floor of the sleek W Taipei building, WOO Bar doubles as a hip lounge during the day and an energetic club by night. The bar is decorated in red and purple tones, with pillows and relaxed lounge areas throughout, including seating near an electric fireplace. Woo Bar prides itself on serving innovative cocktails like the Asian Mind, a mix of liquor and juices with oolong tea, and A Night in Taipei, a concoction infused with bubble gum flavors.

Stream Restaurant and Lounge

For a relaxed atmosphere with city views, grab a drink at Stream Restaurant and Lounge. Simple, modern booths line the bar’s balcony, where guests can hang out in view of Taipei 101. While perusing the menu, guests will notice the bar’s signature drink, Caprihjito, a refreshing mix of Mojito and Caphrinia topped with blue mint spheres. For anyone feeling peckish, Stream is also known for its excellent fusion cuisine. The menu features Stream’s twist on classic American wings and burgers, as well as European, Latin American, and Japanese dishes.

Room 18

With a reputation as one of Taipei’s hottest clubs, Room 18 is hip, loud and electric. The club actually consists of two separate spaces, Room 18 and 18 Lover. The former is dedicated to the club’s dance floor, with neon lights and hip hop music pumping throughout. After sweating on the dance floor, guests can wander over to the 18 Lover room, which is outfitted with tall potted plants and comfy sofas. Though the club is only open on Friday, Saturday and Wednesday, Room 18 draws crowds with its frequent rotation of performers and guest DJs. Ladies can get in free every Wednesday.

This venue is crowded on the weekends and is the first stop for many before a long night of clubbing.
