With June comes school holidays in Singapore, which means that many of the events running this month are kid-friendly. Don’t worry, though, if you’re looking for kid-free activities, as there are events on for everyone to enjoy.

MUSIC | Singapore International Piano Festival

📅 Thursday, June 1st – Sunday, June 4th

Enjoy performances by Joseph Moog, Chiyan Wong, Hüseyin Sermet and many others at this year’s Singapore Piano Festival. Following the theme of Fantasies & Memories, the festival will also host performances by the Singapore National Youth Orchestra and more.

FESTIVAL | Harajuku Fashion Walk
📅 Saturday, June 3rd
Step into the streets of Tokyo without actually getting on a flight at the Harajuku Fashion Walk. The festival returns for its fourth year and will kick off from the Merlion Statue in Marina Bay at 4 pm. If you’ve never seen the Harajuku fashions of Tokyo, this is a photo op you definitely don’t want to miss.

MUSEUM | Explore the cosmos

Head to the ArtScience Museum for a session with UK Astrophysicist Royal Martin Rees as he explores the cosmos. His talk promises to be engaging as he imparts his views on the existential and scientific sides of astrophysics while using his signature style of humour and perception.

THEATRE | Watch Hansel+Gretel

The Orchestra of the Music Makers and Volare Treble Voices present Englebert Humperdinck’s 1893 classic, Hansel+Gretel. The opera features German folk songs telling the story of this unforgettable forest adventure.

DECK, the container baron on Prinsep Street, is hosting a vintage craft session. Spend your Sunday afternoon learning Vandyke Brown printing, a process derived from the iron-silver print process of the mid-19th century. For this event, spaces are limited, so you will need to reserve in advance.

SPORTS | Run with your favourite characters

📅Wednesday, June 24th

DreamWorks brings the first DreamWorks Day to Singapore. Spend the afternoon at the DreamWorks run, and meet the characters from some of your favourite films, including the cast of Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, How To Train Your Dragon and Madagascar. Besides the main run, there will be exciting booths set up all around the Gardens by the Bay.

WWE LIVE SINGAPORE® returns to Singapore for the first time since 2015, and it is their only show in Southeast Asia. Fans can look forward to seeing their favourite WWE stars, including Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Chris Jericho, Bayley, Sasha Banks and Bray Wyatt.

MUSIC | Dance the night away with some of Singapore’s original DJs

📅 Friday, June 30th

One of Singapore’s first DJs, DJ KoFlow, who has been in the DJ scene in Singapore since the late 1990s, brings his hip-hop theatrical experience to the Esplanade Theatres. The show will feature guests such as Shigga Shay, Tan Wei Xiang and more. The entire show will be against a background with visuals by UNTITLED Project.

SPORTS | Learn how to swing dance on the Boardwalk

Head to the Marina Bay Sands Olympic Walk to enjoy a free swing class. The Swing the Night Away event is an outdoor Lindy Hop swing dance social – keep an eye on the FB page in case of inclement weather. Be sure to bring plenty of water and snacks to keep yourself hydrated during the class.
