Singapore shows its colours this month, staying true to form with its share of food festivals. When you’re not stuffing your face, try getting back into shape at one of the running events this month or laugh off all that extra food at Singapore’s first ever comedy show featuring exclusively Asian women.

Armin van Buuren brings his solo set Armin Only Embrace to our sunny shores. Based on his album of the same title, Burren has branched out into other musical styles and collaborated with a range of artists including Eric Vloeimans and Angel Taylor. FILM | Learn about the impact of plastic waste
📅  Tuesday, April 4th, 6.30pm-9pm

Gone Adventurin, the social enterprise that organises events through the Hub Singapore, will be screening award-winning documentary A Plastic Ocean which addresses the issue of eight million tonnes of plastic waste leaking into the oceans annually. The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with social entrepreneurs and corporate partners, and part of the funds from the event will be donated to the Plastic Ocean Foundation.

FESTIVAL | Eat your way through Singapore’s best restaurants

The Michelin guide is bringing their inaugural Street Food Festival to Sentosa Island. This festival will feature the restaurants that were recognised by the restaurant guide last year including the twelve Michelin Star winners and the thirty restaurants and hawkers that received a Bib Gourmand award for providing excellent food at affordable rates.

MARKET | Shop til you drop at ArtBox Singapore

Bangkok’s favourite hipster market is coming to Singapore for two weekends of Artbox Singapore. The Bangkok version of Artbox focuses on local designers selling everything from homemade home decor to artisanal snacks. Artbox has yet to unveil their full lineup of events, but the market is likely to feature local Singapore artists as well as some of the classic snacks from the Bangkok edition.

COMEDY | Enjoy Singapore’s first ever all females stand up show

Get ready to laugh until your face hurts with Laugh You Long Time, Singapore’s first ever comedy show featuring an exclusively Asian female lineup. The show will feature local comedians Sharul Channa and Michelle Chong as well as Malaysia native Joanne Kam and Los Angeles-based Jenny Yang. Together, these four women will bring an unforgettable night of jokes.

FESTIVAL | Show off your ink at the Singapore InkShow

Once considered taboo, having tattoos in Singapore is no longer uncommon. The Singapore Ink Show will feature the island’s greatest tattoo artists and enthusiasts with exhibitions showing off the range of tattoo art in Singapore.

SPORTS | Run or dance through Singapore’s Night Race

The Singapore Electric Run is a run and dance party combined into one. The Electric Run is a 5 kilometre race that takes place at night. Participants will receive an illuminated LED bracelet that strobes to the beat of the music while the walk, run or dance through the course’s event zones.

SPORTS | Run for a cause at the Income Eco Run

Starting from the F1 Pit Building, the Income Eco Run, previously known as the NTUC Income Rn 350, champions eco-friendly behaviour. For the 2017 event, the organisers hope to see runners pledge to be “Zero Waste Runners” in order to improve the environmental impact of these events. Runners who make this pledge will receive a special handheld water bottle to use during the race.

CULTURE | Learn about Chinese culture

The Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall will be closing their exhibition on the Wuchang Uprising at the end of this month. This will be your last chance to see the beginning hallmarks of the 1911 Revolution that eventually resulted in the toppling of the Qing dynasty.
