They say life isn’t perfect – but your hair can be. Check out these hipster barbershops in Singapore and let these skilled barbers leave you with a pompadour that’ll lift your street cred and make a gentleman out of you. Why? Because men deserve some pampering too.

1. Jermyn Street

Beauty Salon, Shop

Chic Interior of Jermyn Street
Undoubtedly the chicest barbershop on this list, Jermyn Street is a high-end barber located in the heart of the CBD offering the quintessential British experience for patrons, as its name might suggest. This barbershop is so British that even their services – The Dapper Duke, The Stately Prince etc – are named after the history of Jermyn Street itself!

2. Grease Monkey Barber Garage

This two-storey “barber garage” is exactly as its name implies: a raw hybrid of a barbershop and garage. Inside, barber chairs are juxtaposed with motorbike helmets and gear, perfect for motorbike enthusiasts looking for a sharper cut. With some customers even comparing it to authentic barbers in New York, this unpretentious hideout is worth the visit for some monkey business.

3. Autocutt Barbershop

Masterminds behind Autocutt
Quietly located in the neighbourhood of Yio Chu Kang, Autocutt Barbershop is the go-to spot for folks in the area looking for a clean shave and cut. The barber is also one of the first in Singapore to provide on-site barbering in vintage Volkswagen Kombi vans at events in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, all the while keeping to the authenticity of an old-school barbershop.

Divided into two stores, the Studio and SOHO, this barbershop is gaining popularity within the local community for its inviting atmosphere and superb haircuts. The barbers themselves were surprised to receive an invitation to give a few members of an Argentinian football team a cut earlier this year during their stop in Singapore for a friendly match. With credentials like that, it’s safe to say that your hair is more than safe here.

4. Limpeh Barbershop

Beauty Salon, Shop

Calm before the storm at Limpeh Barbershop
“Limpeh” literally means “your father” when translated from its Hokkien origins. While it might not make any sense to those who do not speak the dialect, the barbershop’s rather localised name gives off a sense of familiarity to its patrons. The modern barbershop rekindles Singapore’s older style of barbers, where patrons are treated as close friends to uphold the strong neighbourhood culture in Bedok, all the while giving you a well-deserved buzz, of course.

5. Hombre Barberblade

Spa, Shop

Interior of Hombre Barberblade
Located in the far east of Singapore, Hombre Barberblade offers each patron a head and facial cold towel massage using grooming tonics and facial olive oil to nourish the skin and scalp. By blending the services of a traditional barber and the pampering nature of a spa, a visit to this barbershop could be rejuvenating, to say the least.

6. DeepCuts Barber's

With a bookings-only policy, patrons at DeepCuts Barber’s are ensured unparalleled attention to each haircut or shave from the moment they step into the vintage attic at Kampong Bahru. If you are visiting for the first time, don’t be alarmed if your chair is turned away from the mirror during your cut – it is just a unique procedure.

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
