The great thing about the tiny island of Sentosa is the fact that there are so many activities to do in such a small space. From sweat-inducing entertainment such as bungee jumping to dining with the fishes, or perhaps exploring the nightlife scene by the beach, there’s plenty to do. But for the more laid-back folks, the cafes or coffee shops on the island are great spots to hang out and relax from the mid-day sun.
Cafe, Asian, $$$
Here’s a multi-concept cafe which houses a painting studio as well for anyone who might fancy getting their creative juices running while dining at the same time. Essentially, Museo is part of something unique in the way of cafes. Located in a beautiful, peaceful enclave, Museo serves its dishes in bowls that allows one to try out as many of their diverse Asian dishes served up in a special way. This makes it a great place to test your palate and if you want, to work with your inner artist to create something memorable while in Sentosa.
Coffee Shop, Asian, $$$
A local outlet that found fame through its tea made with a top cheese layer, this nifty little place is a neat stopover to try out a drink that you’ll be hard-pressed to find elsewhere in the world. They offer their cold teas in numerous flavours such as honey and avocado milk and the takeaway concept, which is very popular in fast-moving Singapore, allows you to enjoy your drink while you continue sightseeing.
Cafe, Asian, American, Fusion, $$$
Surrounded by lush greenery due to its location within a spa resort, Tangerine focuses on healthy eating by using natural, freshly sourced ingredients – whether they are vegetables, fruits, meat or even their special spices – to create a reinvigorating experience during your sojourn in Sentosa. It’s a great place to de-stress and just get away from the sounds of the urban environment that is all around in Singapore, and dine on their signature Asian-Western fusion cuisine and drinks.
Sabio by the Sea
Cafe, Spanish, $$$
This quaint little Spanish cafe that sits right by the jetty comes across as very unassuming with its straightforward and subdued decor. That being said, its distance from tourists hotspots makes this an excellent choice to chill out and savour some fine tapas at a very affordable price in Sentosa. Top off the Mediterranean vibes with their sangria, one of their more famous items on the menu.
Silver Shell Cafe
Cafe, Buffet, $$$
If you really want to liven up your gastronomic experience, Silver Shell Cafe will have you all bloated before the day is done with their diversified buffet meals piling out ever so often. The sumptuous spread is one reason for their popularity. With dishes catering to kids and vegetarians, you likely won’t be left out regardless of your dietary restrictions, allergies or anything else. This place is great for big groups or families as they even have specials where children can dine for free with a paying adult.
Bistro, Cafe, German, American, $$$
Brewerkz possesses one of the more striking views of the island you can find at a cafe, and it’s a delight to just relax and enjoy your drinks or meals. They offer a very traditional Western selection of burgers, sandwiches, and fish & chips, among everything else. But they specialise specifically in drinks, as it is known to be a place to just unwind. Generally a perfect place to hang out with a group of your best friends or new companions you’ve met while exploring Sentosa.
