When life gets you down, nothing lifts our spirits to a soaring high like a feline-snuggling session at a cat café. Whether you are looking to adopt a cat or simply in need of some cat-lovin’, head on down to these cat cafés in Singapore for a purrfect afternoon.
The Company of Cats
Cafe, Japanese, $$$
Conveniently located in a quaint shophouse at Mosque Street, The Company of Cats is a cozy cat café that serves up asian-inspired dishes and bites as well as coffee and tea. Their tagline? Everything is better in The Company of Cats—and we concur. The café also hopes to raise awareness of cat welfare in Singapore by only housing rescue cats within their premises.
Cover charge: $14 for first hour, $5 per subsequent half hour (includes a standard drink)
Neko No Niwa
Cafe, Tea , $$$
As its Japanese name may suggest, Neko no Niwa started as a way to bring the experience of cat cafés in Japan to Singapore. Helmed by owners Sam and Sue, the couple are cat lovers who believe in the joyful and relaxing effects of cat therapy. Currently housing 13 rescue cats, the café even conducts Cat Care Workshops each quarter to pass on the knowledge of the best practices on grooming, nutrition, and supplements (among others).
Cover charge: $12 for first hour, $5 per subsequent half hour, $32 whole day pass
The Cat Cafe
For the uninitiated, The Cat Cafe might seem hard to find, but once you enter the spacious and bright studio, it’ll be worth any trouble. As cats are no longer allowed in Singapore’s residential flats, The Cat Cafe hopes to emulate the same homely environment for cat lovers to play and relax with their furry friends. If you are lucky, you might be just on time for the cat’s daily feeding session, when you might let out a squeal or two.
Cover charge: $15 per entry (no time limit)
