Fitness Fest 2017’s main programme will be the Fitness Concert featuring mass workouts with fitness celebrities set to live DJs. American social media fitness guru Cassey Ho, who runs Blogilates, the World’s #1 Female Fitness Channel on YouTube, will kickstart the action with the POP Pilates workouts that have catapulted her to fame as well as teaching her latest workout, PIIT28, a cross between Pilates and HIIT (high-intensity interval training).
Fitness Fest 2017 has programming for all skills and age levels and much more than just traditional exercises. Get an intense workout with Anabel Chew, the co-founder and lead instructor of WeBarre, Singapore’s first boutique Barre studio, on May 20, 2017, for a multi-disciplinary workout inspired by ballet, strength training, yoga and Pilates set to a kickass playlist of top hits from Joss Stone to Imagine Dragons. Chew’s fitness ethos is to create workouts that are tough but fun and have a lasting impact.
Daniel Rojas, Tareesh and Derrick Sio make up Superfly Monkey Dragons and will be teaching Parkour techniques with classes aimed at both kids and adults. Use those newfound skills at the Superfly Tent open daily from 10 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. and practise your new abilities to jump and climb over a series of obstacles. Jasmine Chong of Yoga Lab closes the festival on Sunday night with an hour-long Glow Yoga party featuring glow sticks and black lights and will work through basic asana positions backed by a live DJ.
Besides the Fitness Concert, there will also be Fitness Discovery Arenas and a Healthy Living Show. Visit the Fitness Discovery Arenas to try different exercise programmes including spinning, CrossFit and Muay Thai boxing. Each activity will be offered in 45-minute classes through the festival and classified by skill level. Participants must register for classes on-site, and availability will be on a first come, first served basis. The Healthy Living Show will teach about how to live well through better nutrition and organic products without having to rely solely on a diet of salads.
