Colonial churches, historic mansions and the cobalt-coloured Manila Bay can be found in this city in Metro Manila. Some may know it as the home of Ninoy Aquino International Airport, while others will know it for its growing art scene, glittering casinos and celebrity chefs. The casinos have brought with them equally glamorous luxury hotels, but you’ll also find boutique hideaways and microtels from which you can visit barangay La Huerta, home to the famous Dampa seafood market where they cook the catch of the day in front of you. All of this and more – bookable on Culture Trip.

The luxury continues in the Nobu restaurant, where bottles of Dom Pérignon are served alongside king crab tempura and wagyu gyoza. If you’re not in a hurry, visit the spa and book the Nobu Spa Trilogy, a two-and-a-half-hour treatment that includes a coffee scrub using the famed Filipino barako coffee; or take in the views of the metropolis from the outdoor pool.
