For Cruise 2018, Louis Vuitton’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere chose to transport a glitzy audience to the luscious surroundings of the Miho Museum in Kyoto, Japan.
Previously Louis Vuitton has jetted editors to the dusty deserts of Palm Springs, and to a glistening oceanic stage in Rio. The industry has thus come to expect lavish displays – both in terms of the design and the staging. This year was no exception. Watch the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2018 show through the player below.

For the Louis Vuitton Cruise show, the label brought a sense of the modern wild to the verdant surroundings of Kyoto’s Miho Museum. Animal print adorned shoulders on cinched jackets, and elsewhere owl eyes sprung from clutches and mini bags – the combination spoke of an urban exoticism. Futurism was also present here, with severe, statement eye make-up emphasising sharp shouldered jackets and dark leather lapels on shirts and jackets. Meanwhile a melange of silky emerald greens, barks and terracottas rooted the collection in nature; the combination of modernity and the wild serving to offer a vibrant, exciting collection in all.
