With Christmas coming up and 2017 just around the corner, Hong Kong offers an array of shows, concerts, and parties during the festive month of December. Here are all the events around town to keep on your calendar over the next few weeks.


FILM | Hong Kong French Film Festival

📅 Sunday, November 23rd – Wednesday, December 14th

The Alliance Française de Hong Kong presents the 45th edition of the Hong Kong French Film Festival, showcasing the best of French cinema. Over 40 different films will screen across theaters in Hong Kong.

OTHER | Amnesty International Hong Kong: Stop Violence Against Women

📅 Tuesday, November 25th – Saturday, December 10th

In order to raise public awareness of gender-based violence against women, Amnesty International Hong Kong is holding a series of events between the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (November 25) and Human Rights Day (December 10). Activities include film screenings, charity runs, and a fundraising party at FLY.

COMEDY | Kamikaze Komedy With Zenjiro, Hiroshi Shimizu And Nick

📅 Friday, December 2nd

If you’re a stand-up comedy fan, you won’t want to miss the chance to see two of Japan’s top comedians, Zenjiro and Hiroshi Shimizu, perform in English. The show is hosted by Nick Milnes, a two-time finalist of the Hong Kong International Comedy Competition.

ART | Faraway, So Close – Solo Exhibition By Hye Kyoung Kwon

The Art Experience Gallery presents the first solo exhibition by Korean artist Hye Kyoung Kwon. Faraway, So Close features paintings inspired by the hidden signs and objects of contemporary cityscapes, including street objects discovered in South Korea and Hong Kong.

FOOD & DRINK | Cocktails For A Cause

The Karen Leung Foundation’s annual cocktail event features a bartending competition, raffle prizes, and great music. Every drink purchased will benefit cervical cancer treatment and awareness efforts.

THEATER | Wicked

DANCE | 8/F Platform X

A joint show by Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese and local Chinese dancers, 8/F Platform X showcases the best of Asian contemporary dance. The performers will fuse traditional dance such as Butoh and the lion dance with modern styles.

MUSIC | The Zero Point

For a night of South Asian music and drinks, The Zero Point presents a unique lineup of performances from Sufi music to Bollywood hits. The show will be held at Grappa’s Cellar, one of Hong Kong’s most iconic live music venues.

COMEDY | Bill Bailey – Larks In Transit Live In Hong Kong

MUSIC | When Senses Converge By Hong Kong Youth Choir Limited
