1. Little L.A.B.

If you’re craving creative cocktails, head to Little L.A.B. for a taste of some East-meets-West concoctions. The small, inviting space features a long bar that is the ideal vantage point for watching a talented bartender create your drink of choice. Bar snacks include the sweet-and-salty Coca Cola-marinated chicken wings and the addictive, hand-cut sweet-potato fries.

2. Peak Bar SOHO

Located along SoHo’s escalators, this well-loved establishment is a prime people-watching spot. The drinks list is basic, but the long happy hours each day more than make up for that. Grab one of the coveted street-facing seats to enjoy a true Hong Kong experience, or nip out to the garden courtyard.

3. The Old Man

An ode to Hemingway, The Old Man embodies everything the writer loved and enjoyed. The sophisticated space is inspired by Hemingway’s favourite bars across the world, with ornate decor, tropical touches and a moody, gold-adorned bar. Cocktails are named after the writer’s great novels and intricately made with premium spirits.

5. The Pontiac

Complete with retro 1980s vibes, a working jukebox and an all-female staff, The Pontiac definitely has a touch of the Coyote Ugly about it. Expect strong cocktails, plenty of shots and loud music. Bring friends for a raucous night out.

A SoHo institution that’s busy at all times of the day. The large round bar and open first floor make it ideal for people-watching and a firm favourite with those looking to continue the fun after a boozy weekend brunch. The menu features an extensive list of wines, while service is always fast and friendly.

7. Craft Brew and Co.

Another favourite in the craft-beer scene, this minimal, unassuming bar is a great place for a casual drink. Set slightly away from the SoHo crowds and busy escalators, the small space offers an impressive list of craft beers, including brews from all over the world, with 15 on tap and 25 bottled varieties. 8. Nocturne Wine and Whisky Bar

Inspired by Japanese whisky bars, relaxed Nocturne offers light jazz music, friendly service and a long, impressive list of rare whiskies. It also has a humidity- and temperature-controlled wine cellar that offers discounts on bottles bought to bring home. If you’re not an expert yourself, you can rely on the knowledgeable staff to make recommendations.

9. The Roundhouse – BBQ + Beer

Love BBQ? Love beer? Then we have just the place for you. This small, casual bar serves both juicy, succulent meats (try the beef brisket or ‘beer-can chicken’) and abundant veggie options. If you’re not hungry, you can just enjoy a pint or two from the decent selection of local brews – but with the aromas floating around this place, you almost certainly will get hungry.
