Admire The Drawn Paintings of Thomas Houseago

Picture of Michaela Fulton
Updated: 27 July 2016
This is the first exhibition to focus on Houseago’s two-dimensional works of art on canvas. British born Thomas Houseago was originally renowned for his monumental sculptures based on body and architecture – he’d produced many a sculpture that would also function as dwellings which could be experienced from within; truly interactive works of art.

Now, you can admire paintings which exceed the expectations of an illusionary space upon a two-dimensional plane at thegagosian.com. Using acrylic oil paint, pencil, colored pastel and more, Houseago creates a leitmotif of mask-as-face leading to a range of subjective readings from individuals. His works lead to a fully psychedelic viewing experience enhanced by his creative psyche that fully emerges through the rough surfaces and artistic vision.

📅 On until Saturday, August 13th

📍 Gagosian Gallery, 7/F Pedder Building, 12 Pedder Street, Central, Hong Kong
