Updated: 25 November 2016
Introducing ALAMA, jewellery designers from the Maasai tribe of Northern Tanzania who are bringing their unique, hand-crafted pieces to the global stage.

ALAMA was founded by a team of women who wished to preserve and celebrate the heritage of the Maasai tribes through craftsmanship and design. Using 100% sustainable products, the brand operates on a zero-waste policy, with every item locally sourced.

The women at ALAMA make up a team of artisans, who are continuously supported through the direct purchase of their jewellery. The brand is enabled by NGO Africa Amini Alama– a charity which improves the living conditions of the Masaai and Meru tribes of Tanzania by providing them with free health care and social help, alongside educational schemes.

Created for both men and women, ALAMA is the perfect place to buy a unique Christmas gift, knowing that each purchase helps to create an empowered and positive future for these artisans in Northern Tanzania.
